Case Study: Bowman was approached to take a previously designed retail Kiosk vending system and reengineer it for automated production while adhering to stringent specifications. The primary focus was to create a design that could be produced in less time and save money from the previous models. Complicating the project was a tight deadline to have the prototype ready for end-user demonstration in a high-traffic retail setting. The prototype contained multiple systems from a touch-screen interface to industrial-grade internal components that provided a number of unique design challenges.
